MV Jaguar - Photo update of De-construction #3 - 4/2/2012
MV Jaguar - 63.76m Cargo Ship to be De-constructed.

In a very sad twist of events, the MV Jaguar is now almost certainly set to be deconstructed by Stark Bros Ltd - starting October 2011.
Last dry docked by Stark Bros for repairs in August 2010, the owner was subsequently placed in Receivership by their financiers.
The vessel condition arguably proved contrary to previous recent survey status, and resulted in difficulties in selling the vessel by the Receivers, thus deconstruction now looms as the most likely option.
Expressions of Interest are currently being sought from parties who are interested in purchasing any parts or components from this vessel.
Please refer to our For Sale section, the lefthand Red Tab marked
" Vessel De-Construction" for further details.

Lyttelton - Blanketed with Snow 15-8-2011
For the 2nd time this year, Lyttelton awoke to significant snowfall on the ground, causing disruption to the workforce, with closed roads and in some cases snow just too deep to safely move about, unless you had a big 4wd.
Some fun was had with kids, many snowmen were built, makeshift tobogans and sleds wherever a slope was near.
No major damage was caused, but the "wow" factor has quickly disappeared due to the additional time off with staff unable to get to work, and resulting delays to work schedules.
Earthquake 6.3mag - 13/6/2011
Lyttelton and Christchurch have experienced another earthquake, again we are fully operational.
Earthquake 6.3mag - 22/2/2011
Lyttelton and Christchurch experienced a horric earthquake on the 22-2-2011 at 12.51 hours.
The power and destruction was terrifying and incredible.
181 people lost their lives, and many buidlings have been and will need to be demolished.
Stark Bros Ltd while sustaining building damage is fully operational, no staff were killed or injured, although many have lost homes or have significant damage.
The Dry Dock itself has sustained no significant or terminal structural damage, the pump house building has been dismantled, but the Dry Dock faciltiy is and remains very much Open for Business.

FRANK STARK - 27/1/1938 - 21/5/2008
After a relatively brief illness Frank Stark
passed away peacefully at home on the morning of 21/5/2008 .
As many of you will know Frank received an advanced Gall Bladder Cancer diagnosis
on the 14th February 2008 .
Frank and his family have a strong Christian faith, and know now that Frank is at home in Heaven, free from illness.
Frank started Stark Bros in 1958, and with the involvement of his Brothers and 3 Sons, Work and Family became almost inextricably linked and intertwined, often time at work
being with family or enabling other family to be at home.
He was proud of his staff, he enjoyed seeing staff achieve and better themselves, with many apprentices and young people working for Stark Bros over the
years.
While Frank was a man of relatively few words, and often preferred to reflect on others achievements rather than his own, we are all very proud of him.
His constant presence and wisdom at work will be greatly missed by all here at Stark Bros.
This is obviously an emotional time for us as a family company, especially in our 50th Jubilee year, but we will continue, and thank you for your support at this
time.
